Timed Trivia Questions are trivia questions that enforce a limited duration of time for a user to answer the question. The timer can begin on 1) page load or 2) the user pressing start. The faster a user answers the question correctly, the more bonus points a user can earn.
These questions are timed-trivia question only and require specific scoring before pushing the snapshot live. See scoring instructions on the Timed Trivia Scoring section.
Timed Triva Styles
The Timed Trivia Styles should be set-up within the Open Snapshot and will dictate the general styles for all timed trivia questions added. From the first pencil edit icon under Timed Trivia Styles, a user can modify the main timed trivia settings.
- Countdown: Default will be “Countdown start with Start Button” which starts the timed trivia countdown once a user hits the “START” button. The second option of “Countdown start on page load” would start the countdown once a user loads the timed trivia question.
- Timed Trivia Icon: A small icon will appear to the left of the instructions. Default is set to white. A custom icon can also be selected from the Asset Library or updated from within the snapshot.
- Allow user to submit answers after timer: Default is set to Off. If set to On, a user can still answer the question after the timer has ended. Points earned will depend on the scoring modal settings for the timed trivia questions.
Editable copy & formatting styles includes:
- Timed trivia instructions (e.g., You will have 30 seconds to answer correctly, the faster you answer, the more points you earn!)
- Start button
- Bonus Points label
- Timer
Media Specs:
- Custom Time Trivia icon: should be 1:1 PNG and max 100x100px
Answer Styles Settings
Adjust each block of settings for not submitted, answered, and results, as well as the notice of points earned. Tip: These should match any other general styles within other questions (e.g., question, write-in) for consistency.
Adding Time Trivia Questions
From the “+Add Question”, choose “Timed Trivia”. Once selected, you’ll see the general styles applied to the questions added, with question-specific fields to complete.
Sponsor Info (Optional): Add sponsor text and/or a sponsor graphic if the question is sponsored. This text and image will live above the question text.

+ Add Question Media (Optional): Add a question image that would live below the question copy
+ Add Two Answer Image (Optional): If your question only has two answer options and the desire is to have both images live side by side above the answer options. This allows you to select or upload two images.

“Use Custom Styles”: Check this box if you’d like to override the general styles and modify the styles to be question specific.
